SOLEMNITY OF ALL SAINTS

Next Sunday is the Solemnity of All Saints.  Mass times follow the normal Sunday schedule.  Monday, November 2nd is All Soul’s Day.  Masses are at 8:00am and 12:00pm, as well as 6:00pm in Latin.  You are encouraged to pray for the faithful departed throughout November, but especially during the All Souls Octave.  See flocknote for details about available indulgences and prayers during this rich season of the Church.

THE ROSARY

Please join us in praying the Rosary BEFORE each weekend Mass (except the 11:00am, which is directly AFTER Mass). Until November 3rd, we will pray specifically for the rejection of the extreme abortion amendment in Virginia.

ROSE FOR LIFE

Holy Comforter invites parishioners to donate $10, to cover the price of a small bouquet of roses to be placed at the feet of Our Lady to call attention to the tragedy of abortion, the need to build a culture of life, and to honor a person chosen by the donor.  Please call the Office before Thursday to make arrangements for the upcoming Sunday.

ADULT EDUCATION

The Adult Education ministry is offering a reading group focusing on Pope Leo's recent encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas. The first meeting is Sunday, November 8th at 12:30PM in the lower level. Questions? Contact Beth Frazier for details (see Bulletin).

EUCHARISTIC MIRACLES

Please join us for a special presentation on Eucharistic miracles on Sunday, November 15th at 12:30pm in the lower level.  Mike Pietrzyk will present the many incredible miracles the Lord has gifted the Church.

Praying For The Dead and Gaining Indulgences During November

An indulgence, applicable only to the Souls in Purgatory, is granted to the faithful, who devoutly visit a cemetery and pray, even if only mentally, for the departed. The indulgence is plenary each day from November 1-8; on other days of the year it is only a partial indulgence. The plenary indulgence is earned under the usual conditions: sacramental confession (within 20 days before or after), one Eucharistic Communion for each visit (20 days before or after), and prayer for the Pope's intentions (usually one Our Father and the Creed or Hail Mary, prayed each visit) while detached from sin. See Praying for the Dead and Gaining Indulgences During November for more information about indulgences for the souls in Purgatory.
